Betty,

This sounds wonderful and healthy! Thank you.

I love Moroccan food, as well as food from all over the world. I like spices, but not hot spicy.

Just reading this gave me a good idea of how it would taste.

Hugs,

Hi Donna,

Would love to come to Florida and make this yummy recipe for you! We could enjoy a glass of ice tea and talk for hours while the slow cooker does it magic. Then oh the meal we would enjoy together! :-)

Blessings,

What a yummy recipe!

This is the kind of thing I love to think about cooking as the cooler fall and winter months come, and we do less cooking on the barbacue grill, and eat less salad meals.

Hugs to you,

Hey Terri,

Is Pixel hungry? Haha! I understand, I have Copper laying his head on my laptop.

I love the idea of carrots, celery and onions. Diced potatoes would also be good. I love cooking with wine, but never thought to add it to my pot roast. I will have to give that a try. Thank you for additions! Thank you for stopping by My Country Kitchen!

Blessings,

Sorry if you get 2 comments - Pixel jumped on my lap and sent my first comment out somewhere, lol!

Anyway - as I was saying, this is very close to what I do except I add carrots, celery and onions ('cause my Mom always did with her pot roast), then at the end I add 1/2 a cup of red wine and some sliced mushrooms too. Makes for a great sauce!

If I don't have mushroom soup I'll use cream of celery. For some reason I always forget to replace my cream of mushroom soup, lol!

Hi Vicki,

Yes, Round Steak is the same kind of steak you would use in swiss steak. Sometimes you can find it and it has been tenderized into 4 patties also called minute steak. Using 2 lbs of meat you would get four to six servings depending on how big of portions you have. This recipe would also be good to put the left overs in a plastic bag and freeze for a quick dinner when you will be short on time. Or you could half the recipe. Your options are endless!

Thank you for stopping by.

Blessings,

Betty

Is this the same kind of steak you would use for Swiss Steak? This sounds really good and I'm wondering if I could get my husband to eat it. I love using my slow cooker.

How many servings would you get from this recipe? Since it's just my husband and I, should I halve the recipe?

Betty,

I'm by no means a cook! If I have to take my microwave dinner out, stir it, and put it back for another minute - well, that's just too much work! :)

But I honestly think I could make this....and boy, it sounds yummy! If I'm ever feeling ambitious, you never know.

Or...maybe you could wander down to Florida and make it for me?
