I love the smell of fresh apple cake cooking. Apples and Autumn go together to me. Throw in a stick of cinnamon, and you have me hooked! You must be the best cook in the world!

Vicki,
I suggest using a Gala or Granny Smith apple when baking. Please let me know how you like it once you make it.
Blessings,
Betty

Thank you Betty for this tried-and-true recipe. I am bookmarking your blog as I often scan the web for recipe ideas.
The smell of apples baking transports me back to my youth. Perhaps that’s why I always have a Macintosh apple candle burning when friends and families gather.

Betty, I’m going to try the Granny Smith apples. I love how they cook up and their sweet/tart taste.

Betty, I made the cake today and can’t wait to cut into it this evening for dessert. It made such a yummy smell through the house while it was cooking. Even my husband commented on it.

Not sure if I’ve ever had apple “cake” before, but boy does it sound good. I think I’m going to have to try it. Haven’t made a cake from scratch in a while. I also have a friend who bakes who would probably like to try this too. Thanks.
